Why is kidztalk spelled incorrectly?

Question

So, when I was responding to a question by a new user I typed the name of this part of the site in. When I was doing this it made me think why is it Kidzsearch , Kidztalk, Kidznet , etcetera and not Kidssearch, Kidstalk, Kidsnet  etcetera?

I technically thought of it a while ago but not knowing the answer just started to bother me.

That is a good question. The other names were probably not available at the time and the 'z' helps give us better unique branding. It also makes it easier to find us in a search engine and removed possible confusion over the spelling (KidsSearch / KidSearch). At this point we are too well known to change it and think the name is okay. We are glad to see the "cool" answer in some of the comments!

Because it’s cooler than a regular ‘s’.

Plus, KidSearch and KidsSearch are dull. And KidsSearch has a double ‘s’, which doesn’t look the best.

Because adding a z to kids is  “cool”. But it too bothers me. Imagine this happening tho-

Some grownup: Heyyy “wazzup” my kidz 

The “kidz”: hey wassup older homiez 

 

Like bro what
