First, you need an idea. I liked harry potter, I want a write a book like to that... how?
Harry Potter is about a boy, who fights to save the wizarding world. Along the way he not only has to deal with being a wizard, but dealing with everyday problems, such as friendship. Harry Potter inspires readers.
In my book, I will try to make a character that will have a big problem, but seems to be like your everyday person. The character will make readers feel empowered, and give them confidence.
Next, make a few rough drafts, and make notes

Cameron was fairly upset by her parent's choices to send her to a camp. (Cameron will plan to leave the camp secretly). Cameron was trying to convince them not to. Cameron didn't want to be away from home, she liked to go over her friends house. They didn't have to go, why did she? (The camp is bad).
Also, make sure to write out the plot, know what you want to happen:
-Takes place in swamp
-Cameron will try to convince parents not to send her
-Cameron keeps getting in trouble at camp
-Cameron makes friends with a girl at the camp
-Together, they plan to run away
-They face lots of drama, and scary things
-comes close to near death experience
-they escape
Next: Plan everything and get the story the way you want it.

-Make a list of characters
-write down settings
