In java edition how do I join public servers?

I'm new to java and need help.

1: When the game is on the title screen, click “Multiplayer”.

2: Click “Add Server”.

3: Type in the server address/IP.

4: Click “Done”.

5: Click on the server and click “Play”.

Replace “the server address/IP” with “mc.hypixel.net”.
