CHAPTER TEN
EVERYTHING WAS LINKED TO CRUISE, MY KIDNAPPING, AND MY mother's death. I mulled it all over in my brain. I had a way to stop Cruise, once and for all. I had caught the whole kidnapping on tape. The school had a video camera system, and I knew full well it had taped the kidnapping, and I had managed to sneak another film recording my encounter with Cruise from the house I was held custody in.
"Oh, my." The principal gasped when I showed it to her. She clutched her heart and stared at the video "Ms.Frostwater, I will and this in the officials. Thank you for informing me about this dangerous matter. Now every student is at risk if we don't find and arrest this Cruise man."
I smiled. Later on that day, I was in Mr. Beckly's classroom after my "parents" let me live with him. I was finishing a report on rats, almost nodding off to sleep. What jerked me out of my trance was when Mr. Beckly's suddenly stood up and swept over to me.
"What..." I mumbled, laying on my ice-cold desk. The cold felt good against my blazing hot cheek.
"Look," Mr.Beckly's said proudly, handing me a thick newspaper and sliding it on my tan desk with a smug smile on his tanned, grinning face. I gazed down at the bottom of the paper, and almost gasped in awe, surprise, and, and pleasure.
I scanned the articles quickly, speeding down to the best thing- the thing Mr. Beckly had just given me the newspaper for. Down the page, in big bold letters, was my poem "When the Morning Dawns Early". And how it made me feel, as if the dawn had just came early, and I had just learned my fate.
