Do you ever wish you didn't have to follow rules? "Keep off the grass." "No skateboards on the sidewalk." "No dunking." (that would be basketballs, not donuts.) Maybe you see your parents and older siblings getting to do things you want to do, but the rules say you're not old enough yet. Well, what if you could just ignore everyone's rules?
Hybrid's Tale: Hybrid the dragon felt that way. She wished her parents would let her do what she wanted. After casting a 'virtual reality' spell to make it seem that way in a dream, she was shown what life would be like without rules. At first, she enjoyed the freedom, even if it meant getting a little sick from eating too much candy. But as Hybrid made more bad choices, the consequences became more severe, until an unwise decision left her paralyzed. (It's a good thing it was only a dream!)
Our parents care so much about us that they have rules to protect us from decisions we're not ready to handle, or things that might hurt us. Most of them want us to have fun, but they can also see that some choices won't end well for us.
A Dragon's Quest: Ask your parents if they've ever crossed a boundary or broken a rule. What was the consequence? We can save ourselves a lot of heartache by learning from other's and our own mistakes.
