Question

Hii! This is icedcoffee. I am not lgbtq+ myself but my best friend is. She is bi. I don't know much about this specific one and I would like to know more about it so I know the full correct definition. I would also like to know more about queer, lesbian, gay, etc. I know there are alot of post out there, but sometimes I just don't understand. I know that like lesbian and gay mean that you like the same gender as the one you are [at least that's what I think] but I don't understand why there are two different words for the same definition. I have alot more questions - but this is getting pretty long so I will post a different question about the other stuff. Thanks for reading!

I took a s*duality test and it confirmed that I was LGBTQ+. I was like w t f then I realized who I was attracted to and I took another test and it said that I was bi. Better than being a lesbian right. Ok in my opinion;

Gay means a man who is attracted to other men.

Lesbian means a woman who is attracted to other women.

Queer… I don’t know but l’ll look it up and let you know. CU

1. Tests aren't accurate, most of these tests are LGBTQ+phobic and don't even have more than just gay, bi, straight, and maybe pan. They don't even know the definitions half the time.

Well Bisexual is being attracted to two or more genders, with a preference. Most people believe that Bisexual means being attracted to only boys and girls, which isn't true. Bisexual people CAN be attracted to only boys and girls, but not all of them are.

Gay means a non-woman being attracted to other non-women. This can include demiboys, intersex people, men (and trans men!), and non binary people. Gay is also sometimes used as an umbrella term for many LGBTQIA+ people.

Lesbian is different, and it means non-men being attracted to other non-men. This can include women (and trans women!), intersex people, non-binary people, and demigirls (sometimes demiboys too).

Queer is commonly used as an umbrella term for people who don't identify as cisgender (someone who identifies as their AGAB) OR heterosexual (someone who is attracted to those of the opposite gender/s*x). This is just a very basic definition.

The meaning of bi is being attracted to two or more genders, but you do have a preference.

Gay and lesbian are different. Gay can be more gender neutral and people of all genders use it, but it is also used for non-women who are attracted to non-women. Lesbian is for non-men who are attracted to non-men.
