Just wanna say this is going to sound very gross but ima try and make it sound readable. It also talks about periods and puberty so make sure you are comfortable with that before reading.

So I was in the bathroom relieving myself when I feel something. I notice discharge literally dripping down my leg. I've been seeing it for the past couple months (6-8) but this week its been coming out more.

I also have been feeling fatigue. Like im tired but can't fall asleep, and sometimes it takes me over an hour to finally fall asleep.

I've also had signs of my period like breasts growing, hair in...those places, mood swings (im always moody though so idk), and acne (its literally all over my forehead, face, arms, and nose). I've been having more but I can't remember off the top of my head. Most of these symptoms have been occurring since I was 10-11 (Im 12 now).

Anyone have any advice? What was your period like?

Sooooooooooo, I haven’t had my first period yet, but I know what they are like.

So the discharge? Well yeah that’s pretty norm. One question though, is it white, clear, sticky, thick, thin, or off white?

Plus the breasts and hair is also normal, that is not always a sign of a period but it is a sign puberty.

The being tired but can’t fall asleep thing is also normal, and so are all the other symptoms you are feeling. So there is really nothing to worry about! Whew, that’s a relief isn’t it?

P.S. Keep in mind that all girls periods and puberty are diff.

Also I was trying to be playful and not add as much detail as I wanted because I don’t want my answer to be unapproved. :)

It was almost a mix of white and clear. It was very sticky and thick.

Hey, DecK0fC@rds! Cool user :)

What you are going through is TOTALLY normal! DO NOT SWEAT IT!! :D All girls go through it at some point, so don't be afraid to ask an older, trusted adult about this sort of thing!

Ah yes, the discharge. Even full-grown adult females get discharge, too, so it's nothing to worry too much about! Change your underwear periodically (no pun intended XD), or ask your mom for some thin panty-liners! They can help keep everything clean, but like with other feminine products, remember to change it often!!

From what it sounds like, you'll probably get your period within the next 12 months, but ofc, all bodies are different, so you could get it much sooner or much later. I got mine when I was 9, and my friend didn't get her's till she was 15!

I've heard that sleep issues can be related to puberty, but it could also be a number of things. I'm sorry, I can't really help you there, as I'm either imagining sparklesfake scenariossparkles or doing homework (like right now at 10 at night bucktooth). But I often do have trouble sleeping when I'm on a good schedule- I have to truly exhaust myself to get sleep, which is not good as it causes a LOT of other issues too and makes me ill.

Yep! Breast development is normal! Lol maybe you'll get lucky- I'm so flat skull

And hair? That's normal too! I was about 8 when I started getting it, but it was months before I told my mom. Just ask her for a razor and how to shave if it gets a little wild! I do 100% encourage you to shave under your arms- that way you won't be shooketh when you go to wear a tank top in these upcoming warm months.

Acne is also typical. I also started getting it when I was 9, and it got REALLY BAD for a couple years after. It was so bad and none of the store acne products were working.

PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU- IF YOU EVEN HAVE SLIGHTLY SENSITIVE SKIN, DO NO BUY AND USE STORE-BOUGHT ACNE PRODUCTS!! THEY ARE BS!!

Ik from experience!! I had to eventually go on a topical anitbiotic to help clear my awful acne up. It's a clear, cool cream that kinda tingles (in a good way!) when you put it on your face, and trust me, it REALLY HELPS!!  It is called Clindamycin phosphate (or was it HCl? HCl is hydrochloric acid), and your doctor can prescribe it to you upon request! Use a couple full prescriptions of it, and then ease yourself off of it, and then POOF! Your acne is pretty much gone for good (as long as you take good care of your skin)!! I did this, and ofc you will still have teenage oily skin and some black heads and the occasional red pimple on your forehead, but the angry, inflamed, and painful ones are gone!! Sorry, that was a long one, but SERIOUSLY keep this in mind!!

I first got my period when I was 9. I was so scared when I first got it, and I thought I was too young so I just assumed I hurt myself or something! I got it in class on Halloween skull More of a trick, less of a treat clown I will say, the first few years of having a period is rough. Periods when you first get them are irregular and untrustworthy, so you don't really know when you'll suddenly get it. I used to have such a heavy flow that one pad wouldn't do it, and sometimes even with two I would leak onto my jeans! Sleeping was awful- waking up to bloodied sheets and another pair of ruined pajama pants. There was always so. Much. Blood.

However, when I turned 14, things got WAYYYY easier with my period. It was so much more on time, and my flow was so much lighter. Now it's just a bother when I have to swim, which is a whole other topic!

So don't fear puberty and the things that come with it! Ik it sounds kinda scary, but it's a part of growing up, and everything mellows out when you get a bit older! But for right now, appreciate the fact that you don't have to deal with a period, and wear your cutest tops while you still can before you grow up and get all sweaty and stressed out like me XD

I hope this helped, and best of luck :) I also hope this wasn't to graphic lol.

If you get cramps, try a hot wash cloth (you might want to put it in a sandwich bag if it feels too hot). I know you didn't mention cramps, but this is just some advice.
