Well, let’s see. Technology nowadays lets you do so much without even lifting a finger from things like Alexa, Siri, and Google. Otherwise, we can communicate with people with a tiny rectangle on our wrist or in our pocket. In the ‘80s, if you wanna talk to someone, it wasn’t quite that easy. Even more so in the ‘50s.
There also was NO NONSENSE for kids. I hear some stories about how kids at the schools here will argue with the teachers about their earbuds and phones during class, and will talk back and completely disregard teachers. You do that back then, you’d get beaten with a yardstick by the teacher.
I could go on and on and on, but it’s definitely easier to live now. But that doesn’t mean it’s worth it just because it’s easier. I’d love to travel back in time to the ‘50s. The ‘80s not so much; everybody wore parachute pants and neon spandex and ‘fros and whatnot. But at least in the ‘50s, nobody would think you were weird if some of your favorite shows included “I Love Lucy” and “The Twilight Zone.”
