I can trace my ancestry back to 1700's Scotland but that's all the further. My great-grandfather compiled a big book of our family tree with photos of everyone (interesting fact: he passed away on my birthday last year). One of my ancestors helped to burn Atlanta and I have a Japanese bill that another took from a crashed Japanese pilot in WWII. We don't know a thing about my dad's side though. And yeah, like I said before: my mom's DNA test claims we've got a lot of Sicilian blood. Fun.

Like Pumpkin, my great-grandmother (I suppose 'in-law' since she's not blood; she just married my great-grandfather) is also descended from the Mayflower and she takes a lot of pride in that fact.

It seems a lot of people have a grandparent or great- grandparent who makes a book about their family history.

Dude why'd you change your name?

I didn't think anyone would notice, but I changed it to come off as more chill. "PUMPKIN" sounds kinda aggressive, and all-caps is cringe anyways.

It will be amazing if somebody screams "PUMPKIN" at me

I love my heritage. I was as obsessed with it as you are, but not as much now. Though I would definitely love to see how much of what I obsess with I am a-=D

I'm not sure if I can tell anyone it. I do absolutely love learning everything I can about it, though. And I love talking about it with others. I can't wait to get the chance to finally embrace it!

I'm not one, but my Grandpa is. He wrote two books about my family genealogy and travelled all over the states collecting court records to compile it all. We have tons of artifacts and old pictures, too. On my Grandma's side, I'm descended from the underground railroad workers, who helped free enslaved people during the US civil war. There are still old mansions in England from before her ancestors came to the US and my grandma also visited those (No, we're not rich anymore lol). On my Grandpa's side, we're descended from Pilgrims on the Mayflower. Specifically, we're descended from governor John Bradford. The second president of the United States, John Adams, is also descended from pilgrims and I'm related to him. My grandfather has traced his side of the family all the way back to the 1600s and even came to England to visit old graves. But that's all my Mom's side. On my Dad's side, my great grandmother also wrote a book about our genealogy, but I haven't looked much into it. My Dad works at a University with some professors who share the same last name. Since my last name is very unique, we suspect they may be very distantly related to us.

My last name is also unique. Many people misspell it. And I haven’t seen my last name anywhere.

Well you're from John Bradford AND John Adams. I guess we know why you're so famous, successful, and popular now. Maybe Abigail Adams was your great-Aunt (yes I'm calling it that 'cause I don't feel like counting how many 'greats' it would take. Given the scientific definition of human generation is ~25 years, y'all can figure that one out if you like).

I’m rather interested in people’s ancestries too. Not as much as you, but when I’m an adult, I’m gonna take a test to see what I am. I know I have about 25% Scandinavian in me since my dad has about 50% Scandinavian in him and my grandpa is from Scandinavia himself.

Not sure about the others though.

But it is legal for Minors to take DNA testing. Not kids (Without parental permittion) but people between 13-17 are allowed to take DNA testing.
