I'm not one, but my Grandpa is. He wrote two books about my family genealogy and travelled all over the states collecting court records to compile it all. We have tons of artifacts and old pictures, too. On my Grandma's side, I'm descended from the underground railroad workers, who helped free enslaved people during the US civil war. There are still old mansions in England from before her ancestors came to the US and my grandma also visited those (No, we're not rich anymore lol). On my Grandpa's side, we're descended from Pilgrims on the Mayflower. Specifically, we're descended from governor John Bradford. The second president of the United States, John Adams, is also descended from pilgrims and I'm related to him. My grandfather has traced his side of the family all the way back to the 1600s and even came to England to visit old graves. But that's all my Mom's side. On my Dad's side, my great grandmother also wrote a book about our genealogy, but I haven't looked much into it. My Dad works at a University with some professors who share the same last name. Since my last name is very unique, we suspect they may be very distantly related to us.
