this song has been done a lot of times, but the best version has to be Kirsten Bråten Berg's version. After all, She is the queen of Norwegian folk (even thought she is Norwegian-American)
The song is called Anne Kuntsdotter (you could tell this song is old due to the surname thing, back then, until the early 1900s Scandinavian surnames were detirmened by the child's gender and their dad's name, so Knutsdotter means "Knut's Daughter" a lot of Scandinavians and Scandinavian-Americans have a fixed surname (Andersen, Jensen etc), so if you have -Sen or -Son in your surname, chances are you may be Scandinavian)
The song is about Anne, who says she lives in a very special place, and she must love it so much, it makes it her whole personality. What is very confusing is that there is a line that says
