Hi, welcome back!
Another one of these, huh.
Here are some of my favorite violin pieces (not including concertos, quartets, trios, or any other accompanied works)
Ysaÿe- violin sonata no. 3 in D minor: you may have heard me spouting how this is my favorite piece, and it is for good reason (click me!). It begins with a slow tempo including many extremes with volume, it evoles into a very fast and virtuosic piece featuring many double and triple stops. And the mood may be described as full if malice, or angry, but it does contain hints of sadness.
Paganini 24 caprices no. 24: a very famous piece, this caprice is the first piece to feature Paganini's famous theme (there are many different adaptations that have been made to it) it features 11 difficult renditions of the theme with a good finale.
Paganiniana: an adaptation of the 24th caprice, paganiniana is absurdly difficult.
Bach's chaccone: very famous and long-winded, this piece is captivating but proffers a sense of loneliness. Very difficult and very beautiful.
Ysaÿe- violin sonata no. 6: extremely virtuosic, some people may not like it just because of how virtuosic it is, it is a neutral tone that sounds kinda Spanish.
Bach- violin partita no. 3 preludio: this is a happy, famous prelude that is fun to listen to (yep, I couldn't think of anything else).
Edit: Ernst- 6 polyphonic études, no. 6: an absurdly virtuosic piece, it's pretty calming though, I'd recommend listening.
That's all I've got on my mind right now.
Anyways, tell me your favorites out of these (assuming you listened to them), and tell me your favorites that I didn't feature on this short list (just make sure that the piece is solo and not composed in the late 1900's (post-modern era), so no pop or anything 21st century). (Have you seen this before?)
