So There is a band I ABSOLUTELY LOVE called Garmarna. They are a Swedish Folk-Rock band, and I want to share some of their musical lore.
They have 1 song called Öppet Hav (Open Sea) that has some interesting lore.
1st of all, the opening scene character. There is this girl who must be a really big Garmarna fan, almost as me
What is actually interesting is that the main character's family are Syrian (According to the Garmarna Wiki) which makes me feel happy because I feel like I am the only Non-Scandinavian who loves Scandinavian culture
Also, Can we talk about how in the 3rd picture, she has the Forest Demon Plushies from one of Garmarna's songs, Those are so adorable and I want to get my hands on them (or I'll ask my mom to sew me some Forest Demon plushies for Christmas or my 14th Birthday)
Then you have her older brother, or some older male relative that cant be a dad because he looks like he could be between 17 and 20 (the girl looked like she coud be from 12 to 15) who is a fan of the other singer who collaborated with Garmarna in this song (Idk who he is, but he is some Swedish 80s rockstar)
Appearently the city they live in is flooded. It dosen't specify what city they are from, but I am gonna assume Malmö, Because of all the problems happening with Non-Swedish residents. For some reason, there is an ad for Garmarna's new album (this album, and the song came in 2016) so I guess Garmarna wanted some secret promotion for their album, since they haven't released an album since 2001 (they have released their newest album in 2020 tho)
Another easter egg, there is a scene where you can see Emma Härdelin (the lead singer of Garmarna) saying hi to the girl. (the characters dont have names, but because they are Arab I am gonna name then Saniyya and Rahim) I am surprised that Saniyya didn't express any emotion. I mean she owns every Garmarna album and has posters of them
Then, Saniyya was completely about drown from the flood but thank God, Rahim brought a Giant Teacup (Do they excist ?) and they went to the teacup. And for those who are wondering, they did not survive (one of the comments spoiled the entire lore)
Anyways, the song's actual message is about Sweden's Immigrant crisis, but I thing the meaning is that your brothers/sisters are there for you, even if your city is drowning and you like some Swedish Folk-Rock band
(I mean, My best friend is a Muslim Garmarna fan so I guess this hapens to her lol?)
ANYWAYS IS THIS LORE INTERESTING????
