This story has zero importance in the events of who to trust, it simply is a cool story that i write for fun within the universe of who to trust.
Two 13 year old boys, Braylen Hillis and Cody Parker, decided that they would launch a charity to fund their over-the-top science project: going to the mesosphere, and safely returning.
It was august 30th, and they had till November 12th to submit an all-out science project. Cody and Braylen had their birthdays on September 14th and October 2nd respectively. They would do a late birthday celebration, combined with a science spectacular. Their charity would be named “the tiny astronauts”, and it was a hit. People all over the nation donated, and eventually they had a big amount of money to spend on the program. They went to work on the test rocket, adding solid-fuel boosters and a main liquid fuel engine. In case of emergency, they had a hatch they could open and then parachute out of, and a small oxygen tank and breathing apparatus just in case they had to tell Houston they had a problem. They tested the test rocket unmanned: systems were good, everything seemed okay. Tested second time unmanned: it was good again. 3rd time: they put one of their friends, who promised to keep it secret until the November 5th reveal, in the cockpit for the 3rd flight. He was instructed on what to do, and he obeyed. The flight was a success. They had burned about 70 k on rockets, and they would build a final rocket big enough to send 2 people to the mesosphere: themselves. They named their rocket .308, after their favorite hunting caliber, the .308 winchester. It was reveal day, and everyone went crazy when they went to the warehouse and saw the rocket. They showed them their suits, cabin, and the features of the rocket. The teacher pondered immediately giving them first. It was launch day. They climbed up the ladder on the side of the rocket, and got in contact with their mission control: their older brothers back at the warehouse communicating through a wireless phone. “Mission control, this is winchester. We are t-minus 15 minutes to launch.” Braylen, the commander pilot said. “This is mission control, hear you loud and clear.” Their brothers replied. The whole town watched the launch. 15 minutes later. “Mission control again, clear for launch.” Their brothers stated. They started the countdown. Everyone joined. They launched, and they heard cheers. Their flight ascended for 1 minute, before descending, deploying its parachute, and splashing in the ocean. They were found on gps, as planned, and were recovered by one of their uncle’s fishing boats shortly after.
