It was a fall afternoon, and a fox sat by the farm eating a chicken. When the fox was done with the chicken, a wishbone was left on the ground.

When the farmer walked to the scene, the fox ran away. When the farmer saw the wishbone on the ground, he threw it to the pigs. So the wishbone got muddy. A pig carried the wishbone to a chicken nest. So the muddy wishbone was incubated.

The next day, the chicken who was incubating the muddy wishbone got off the nest to discover a Negro baby boy the size of a thimble. "Hello, I am Martha the chicken. I will call you Clement.," said Martha the chicken.

"Actually, I would prefer to be called Nest.," said Clement. "You just borrowed your name from this nest!," said Martha the chicken. "Exactly.," said Nest the baby boy.

Soon, when Nest became the size of a toothpick, Marta taught Nest how to find food. "So what you do is when the farmer throws yellow corn onto the ground, you pick the corn up with your flat beak.," said Martha. "Actually, it is called a mouth.," said Nest.

The farmer threw corn in the ground. Nest and Martha ate it.

When Nest got a little older, he got tired of corn. So, he snuck out of the coop and went in the farmer's house through the doggy door. When he went in, he saw many wonderful things. He saw blueberry pie, a pig with an apple in it's mouth, gravy, peas, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, radishes, cabbage, and carrots. But there was nobody at the table. So, he stole a morsel of each food and brought it back to the coop.

"What do you have there?," said Martha. "Food from the farmer's house.," said Nest. "But the farmer and his family needs that food!," said Martha. "I did not take much.," said Nest. "No more stealing!," said Martha. "It is called borrowing. And since I borrow, that makes me a borrower.," said Nest. "You know what? You do not need me anymore if you have enough foolishness in your mind to do something like that!," said Martha. So Nest left. When he left, he dug a hole in the ground where he would live for the rest of his life. He stole items from the farmer's neighbors and used them as home decor.

Soon, he fell in love with a flower. When he kissed the flower, that flower turned into another borrower, but a girl one named Flower. So they married each other and had a baby which they named Grass.

And that is the story of how the very first borrower came to be.
