Crossing the ice will be fatal but I had to save my sister. I took one shakey step onto the ice my mind racing. I can make it I told my self. I heard a quiet voice in my head DONT STEP YOU WILL FALL! I have too I took another step and the ice caved in plunging me into darkness. I tried to swim upward tried to breathe. My chest felt like it was going to explode. I was helpless.
