Tiktok shop ads should stop

So I want to take a moment and talk about ads I keep getting because I can.

I remember back when ads were actually interesting. when ads had lore. Remember the Goldfish snacks, well the ads have lore. and as annoying as they are, I lowkey wish I kept getting geico ads.

the ads i get now are really bad and they are for tiktok shop.

For those who haven’t catched up with the tea, Tikok has a shop feature now where you can buy basically anything. A lot of websites already have a shop feature so yeah.

Now, These ads no matter what I watch, I keep getting them. and I do want to give out reasons why I am sick and tired of these ads.

1st of all. The wrong language. Now, I have my phone and my computer set in Norwegian and I mostly watch stuff in English. Well, I keep getting tiktok shop ads in Spanish. Now, I am Hispanic so It kinda feels like whoever controls the ads stared deep into my soul and were like

hmm yes we know your entire ancestry now so we will give you ads in Spanish

Now 2nd of all, marketing. Now I keep getting a lot of tiktok shop ads, specially about dogs. I do have a dog, her name is Eevee and she is a fluffy baby. But I believe I never watched a video about dogs (Except this video that’s called “My Dog Picks My Art Supplies”) Because I mostly watch art, Scandinavia or History-related stuff 

and last but not least, Overconsumption. Tiktok made me buy it is a tag that glorifies overshopping in items that are rather useless. Like one of the most viral products is literally a machine that turns your fanta into mist. WHO NEEDS THIS (Unless you’re a theatre kid with a few moneys then ok) I have sacrificed money on stupid stuff like my  Historical Norway-Sweden Union flag or a Snufkin plush but WHAT.

Anyways.

I H.A.T.E. Tiktok so many rude girls always criticizing themselves saying they are fat and ugly and using filters.

It’s kind of the same thing on r/amiugly. You have a bunch of nice-looking people asking if they’re ugly. The only posts I like on that subreddit is the animal ones. (Animals asking if they’re ugly)

I miss when they showed the Geico ads on TV. The Geicoween ads were the best! (Fun fact, my dad was in the background of one of them but you probably can’t see him)
