after that, no one wanted me, so i resorted to shop-lifting in my small town, and sleeping in the small box that was once owned by a stray dog. the days were lonely and heartbreaking, no one to love me, like the girls and boys who pulled on their parents jacket begging for candy and sweet bread. people treated me like i was nothing, passing me by when i shivered in the cold. but one day, a blizzard was going to come in a few days, and i had no where to go. i thought i was going to die and i ran to the bakery near my box and sat there. while i was there, a tall, brown-haired woman in her guessing 40s came in. she came up to the baker and asked for an order I couldn't hear. the baker smiled and headed to the back. in a few minutes, a heavenly smell came from the back that wandered into the front. the baker plopped the paper-bag on the front creamy white counter and held out his hand for something. she dug in her over-sized pockets that were sown on her coat and dropped a few coins onto the counter missing his hand. i could hear them. she turned and flinged open the door and headed out. mostly, i didn't steal from people who had it already in their hands, but the urge drove me. i tracked behind her in the big crowd, shoving and pushing at the people pushing by. soon, i was side by side with her in the crowd and her head was above mine, so she couldn't see me. i grabbed her bag and it tore just a bit. i dashed to the side while i watched her grey eyes tag my eyes, and she screamed,'' THIEF!" so i tried to usher past everyone. i ducked into a small ally way owned by some other children with no homes. if they caught me there, they would make me regret it. i took a breath and rumbled my hand into the hot-warm bag. i brought up a small powered piece of bread with sugar to my mouth. i devoured it in about seconds. the flavor melted in my mouth. i grabbed more and stuffed my mouth full, a heaven i would never want to leave. half-way through though, i caught with the back of my eye a boy rounding the corner. i gasped, it was one of the boys from that group, i had to leave. i started to pick myself up and dust myself off from the powered sugar. when i look up again, i see four more boys with them. and they all have angered faces." Hey! you wanna take our ally eh? well you can't, and in fact, we heard there's a big blizzard, right guys?" he looked around for their approval and started to speak again. " Well, we need some food to last us it, and it looks like you got somthin, so give us your bag, jerk,or we will give you somthin badder" he said, cracking his knuckles. they were going to beat me up, or something like that. i reached for the other side of the wall, and a hand pulled my arm.
