Hi! First off, what type of hamster did you get? I have a dwarf hamster, and he really likes to escape. I started off with the bared cages, but he was super loud with chewing on it. I upgraded to a glass aquarium, and it was SUCH a good decision. I now have a 40 gallon tank for my hamster, and he loves the space to run. I personally love to go for a natural style, but do whatever works for you and your hamster. Dwarf hamsters at night can run up to five miles, so you will need a non squeaky wheel. Also, make sure that you exercise your hamster really well. DO NOT use a hamster car or ball for them to run in. It has ventilation issues, has hurt there feet on the cracks, and if they run too fast, they can hit a wall. If they hit something, it can cause permanent brain damage.
