I couldn't find one single thing about human/shark symbiosis. Nothing. "Hmm..maybe what happened to me was just some sort of freak accident..worst case scenario, the shark actually did hurt me, and I was hallucinating or something, like what Natali insisted.
Suddenly, there was a knock on my door. "Dad, I told you. I'm not going back out there until I'm sure of what I saw yesterday." I called under the door, thinking my father was the knocker. "Actually, it's me," said a more feminine voice, the door cracking open slightly.
"Oh, hey Natali." I droned, still scrolling my mouse down the computer screen, in search of proof and evidence. "Are you really still stuck on that shark thing again?" Natali asked, a faint grin in her cheeks. But when she saw that I wasn't laughing, her expression faded, much like mine. "You don't understand," I replied, turning from the computer screen.
"you don't know what it's like to..have something as shocking and incredible happen in your life before," I receited like a Nature Valley granola bar commercial on TV. "Well, maybe I don't. But Lia I'm still going to be here for you. We're the California girls!" Natali exclaimed enthusiastically. "Maybe," I said, turning back to the screen. "But I wanna find out what that shark has to say..."
Natali left later that day to go hit the 20 footers before they dropped. She insisted I come with her, but, she understood that I was still a bit shaken as to what had happenwd the day before. That shark is costing me my surfing reputation, and I'm gonna figure out why.
