So, I have an assignment due in a few weeks for nhd, the topic this year is "major shifts in history" (I think) and I decided to pick Japan's Meiji restoration. I chose to write an essay, and it turned out to be a grueling undertaking, I bit off more than I could chew here, I knew almost nothing about Japan's history. I decided to structure the essay with a brief history of Japan leading up to the war against the Taira and Minamoto clans, and the cause of the Shugunate, but I haven't gotten any further.
Does anybody know what I should do next? Or give me a revision, history lesson, or some background knowledge that I should know. I really don't know what to do here.
