Assuming you mean the LGBT+ gay, then you can’t really act gay. I kinda get why people would think someone might be acting gay, but the only way you can act gay without being gay is by saying you’re gay and them saying that you’re not.

They probably don't mean gay like LGBTQ+. Gay can also mean happy.
