“Thank you sir, we’ll consider the offer, but in the meantime, we have business. May we have your number?” Aaron replied.
“Yeah, sure.” The man replied, giving him a card.
“Thanks.” Grant said, walking up the stairs with Aaron.
When they reached the surface, the streets of New York City made the two feel alive.
“So, my big brother is 22 now, huh? Business man.” Aaron said, fixing his watch.
“22 is a human’s prime. You still got 4 years to go. In the meantime, get a small job.” Grant replied.
“What about a date?” Aaron asked, grinning.
“Good point, I’m not married. Some kids would be nice.” Grant said, clearly being sincere.
Aaron saw his apartment building on the other side of the street.
“I better get going.” Aaron mentioned.
“Can I go with you?” Grant asked.
“Sure.” Aaron replied.
As they crossed the street and walked up the stairs, the two talked more about their time apart.
Entering the room, it reminded Grant on his childhood bedroom.
Aaron took off his hoodie.
“You forgot, didn’t you, idiot?” Grant said, chuckling softly.
“What’d I forget?” Aaron asked.
“You forgot to get that girl’s number. You knew she looked good.” Grant replied.
Aaron slammed his hand on the table.
“You’re right. I gotta work on that.” Aaron said, let down.
“Hey, but you focused on getting the job done. That’s good.” Grant added.
After playing ssbu together on Aaron’s switch, they decided to call the father’s number.
After a few seconds of ringing, a voice answered.
“Hello?” The voice said.
“It’s the boys from the train station.” Grant said.
“Oh yeah! How y’all guys doing?” The man replied.
“We’d like to take up your offer.” Aaron added.
“Yeah? Well,
I got a shipment. You think you can get it and return it to the old Richardson warehouse?”
