If you have 10x10x10 would really me to the power of three. Or another way would just to count the zeros to know.

No. 2+2+2+2 = 8, not multiplication. 2x2 is 4, 4x2 is 8, then 8x2 is 16.

It means add that many zeros to the end only works for 10 and up example one to the power of two is 1 10 to the power of 2 is 1000

No. "to the power of" represents exponents (when there is a small number above a big number like 2²). 2²​ means 2, multiplied by itself 2 times. 2x2 is 4. Take it from someone in a highschool level Algebra class.

"To the power of" in other words means: an action in multiplication given the power to multiply a duplicate value times another value.  2 to the power of 3 is (2*2*2=8) or (2*2=4*2=8) very abstract.
