Ok, so I have this friend, but she’s sorta a not friend. Let me start from the beginning. Earlier in the year, I had no friends and would wander aimlessly around the field. Once, I wandered over to a group of girls and asked if I could play with them. They just stared, scoffed, and laughed. I wanted to burst into tears, but walked away to sit on a bench in a corner of the field. Then, I finally got ahold of myself and continued my wandering. I wandered over into a dugout in a corner of an abandoned kickball field. Then I realized that the dugout was already occupied. The occupants was another group of girls, except this group numbered only 3 girls. One girl had blonde hair and was very tall and skinny, like she had been stretched upwards, another girl brown hair to her upper back and was talking about a ‘speckle’. The last girl had just ran over with a fistful of leaves. She looked Chinese, and had shoulder length, glossy black hair. The blonde, was… let’s call her Dalia, the brown haired girl was… let’s call her Sophia, and the black haired girl … let’s call her Katie. I walked over and asked what they were doing. They said that they were collecting ingredients for a poultice and that it was based off a book series called Warriors. I asked if I could plays, and they agreed. I was so happy. Eventually, they became my BEST friends. Then, the trinity incident happened, but I’ll talk about that in another post. Then, a girl came over. She had short curly brown hair and asked if she could play. We recognized her as the new girl. She had made friends in a friend group that had one or two girls that weren’t the best to hang out with, and she got kicked out of that friend group. She seemed nice enough in the week we got to know her before she asked, and we pitied her, so we said yes. She was ok at first, but then she got a bit mean. Almost everyday I would bring snacks and I would share with everyone. Sometimes Dalia, Sophia, and Katie would bring things as well, and we would all share. We all shared with the new girl.. let’s call her Emma, but she would never bring anything in. One day we said this and Emma replied that she would bring something the next day. She brought a package of granola bites and gave each of us one, then ate the rest. And then ate most of what I brought. This went on for a while until, one day, after school, we told her that, as friends, we said she should to bring more snack for as much as she ate of ours, that she needed to stop bragging about everything, stop being selfish and saying mean things to us. She ran away crying. I walked after her. I was usually one to give many, many chances, but I was only giving her one more. She said that we were the mean ones, but when I asked her why, she couldn’t come up with anything. Then she said that her Au Pair was leaving because she didn’t like her thought she bragged about how much her Au Pair loved her before. Then she said she didn’t like her Au Pair. Then something inside me snapped. I screamed at her that I had 12 Au Pairs and I actually loved all of them and they left because the had to. Then I calmed down and we talked and got resolved. But we still don’t like her. I don’t want her in our friend group. She had cause fights and then dragged everyone in them, then made them worse and then had no idea how to resolve them. I don’t want to be a mean girl, but I’m not happy with her in our friend group. If we kicked her out, would that make me a mean girl? Should I kick her out at all?
