Hey, you! Yes, you! (Horrible way to start this off lol.) Are YOU worried about next school year? Maybe how it’ll turn out? I’m here to give you advice, ESPECIALLY for those converting to middle school. Lets get started!
For all kids going to the next year in elementary school- it’ll be just like last year, but you’ll have a new teacher and class. The older you get, the more independent your expected to be, but since you grow with life it won’t be a problem. Don’t worry about it. It’ll just be new things to learn, and you’ll adjust quickly!
For all my friends going into middle school- do NOT WORRY AT ALL. It may take a bit to adjust to going from class to class, but it gets pretty easy. The first two days are the most stressful, because you gotta try and FIND the classes, but it’ll work out! Your fifth/sixth grade teacher will always be like “In MIDDLE SCHOOL, you don’t GET to behave like that,” or “In MIDDLE SCHOOL, you can’t do this or that,” or even “Act like a sixth/seventh grader!” However it isn’t like that at all. I expected it to be like the teacher wouldn’t accept ANYTHING late, but they are SO MUCH BETTER than your teacher makes them sound. And you still do get to do fun things. My friend (not me because I was in a different class ) got to go on 2 DIFFERENT FIELD TRIPS.
The other thing you may be worried about is the locker room? Yeah you get used to it. It’s bad the first two WEEKS but it gets better. It’s definitely awkward for a while. I found a way so I don’t have to be topless in front of a bunch of other girls. You just gotta be quick. It’ll be alright.
I am only in 6th grade going into 7th so if any of you older kids got advice tell me! I just hoped I could help ease kids anxiety. Especially when I thought back on my first days of middle school. BOY IT WAS TERRIFYING. Okay I hoped this helped!
