So my friend Dina (she/they) told my friend Kate (she/her) to tell me that Dina had a crush on me. Im a genderfluid and omni person (she/he/they) and this really surprised me. Now Dina is one of those friends who is very flirty all the time with literally EVERYONE. We had a field trip yesterday and she kept hugging me and calling me darling (we have this ongoing joke that we are wives and are married). Now I never thought anything of it because I am HORRIBLE at telling what others are feeling, but I should have noticed that she was being very flirty with me but not with any of my other friends.
Now when she told me this I just became incredibly awkward. Mind you, Dina literally has a girlfriend, Sage (she/her), that lives a few hours away, and i have never met her. As far as I've heard from Dina, they are incredibly happy together and had been dating for over 8 months. My friend Kate, however, said that they're actually a very toxic couple and Dinas only dating her because Sage is a nice person. Sage has never even said "I love you" to Dina once.
I now am questioning if I am aromantic, because I have only ever had one real crush, and I am 12. I don't like the feeling of dating someone, and the idea of it creeps me out.
Now Dina didn't think I liked her, which I dont, but Kate told her about a joke I had made a while ago. I had been joking that I was obsessed with Dina and that she was super pretty. My other friend had made a similar joke about another person and I was just copying them. Yet Kate thought I was serious and now Dina thinks I like her. I love Dina as a friend though and I don't want to break her heart. What do I do?
