It was now one day since the fight with the soldiers, and the duo were now more hungry than ever. Zavala came up with a good idea (though it did not seem that good to Varik) Zavala would use his hunting skills to get an animal to eat. Zavala succeeded in getting an elk, though it was a small cow. The next day the duo were only a mile away from the capitol of Shillkou and were preparing to sneak in without being seen.
The plan was surprisingly successful, and they had gotten close to the city square. But on their way to the square, they were stopped by Viking guards for an inspection. While they were being examined, the head Viking asked them if they were from the Northern Islands and had any intentions to do harm to the King. Varik said that he was simple Viking merchant, and that Zavala was his trusty dog. The Viking let them go.
The duo discussed what could be going on with the to nations, (Candalor, and the Northern Islands) and why they were acting like they were going to war. The duo finally made it to the square and looked for one of the Viking King's maids. They finally found one and asked for directions to the Kings Fort. The maid told them to ''go over to the Southern tower''. The duo gave a polite response and headed to the south tower.
