My progress on the sheath for my dagger (see the posts below this one if you haven’t seen it yet).

I just finished dyeing it a few minutes ago.

Again, ask me anything because I never get the chance to talk about leather with anyone.

Wow, you made that? I know nothing about any of this, but you seem really talented.

Knowing you, do you use your daggers for nefarious purposes? Just kidding. They look really cool, keep it up.

Thanks mate. Do you really want to know the purposes of this though?

You have long fingers.

(I'm following yours and Elo's examples)

Is that like a 3 in one knife? It looks like it has modes to it :]

Nah my fingers aren't actually that long. Just looks that way because it's stretched out to hold the band. I just now measured my index finger. It's a little under 3.5 inches, which (yes I looked this up) makes my finger average for male index fingers.

And actually it has four modes (ay Pumpkin?): Thrusting, Slicing, Chopping, and, of course, Stabbing.

Huh. I think I pay too much attention to how long fingers look...

With the modes thing, I was close!

It's cool that you actually made a knife with four modes to it! I thought it was hard enough to make a knife with one mode x3

Yeah funny I thing is, most knives have at least four modes

How durable is leather?

That’s my question. Also, cool watch you got there. (You said to pay attention to details)

Veg-tan leather (what I use, tanned from vegetable-derived oils like from barks) is incredibly strong. You can't really mess it up unless you're trying to with a sharp thing. It can get scratched, sure, but this is pretty heavy leather (I think it's about 7-8 oz but I don't know for sure [in case you're not familiar, '7-8 oz' does not describe how heavy the sheath is, it's just a way to measure the thickness]). With lighter leather like 2-3 oz you run the risk of it getting torn from being over-stretched or broken from punctures and whatnot. Basically if a leather thing is made well, it's going to withstand pretty much anything it would encounter day-to-day. I guarantee you I can stab it as hard as I can with that dagger and it won't puncture.

As for the watch, thank you. It's a SEIKO, so it's certainly an upgrade from the $19.99 CASIO Forester I bought for myself from Walmart.
