I love talking about a music genre nobody my age cares about

So I was listening to a song on my school computer during Model UN called Guro Rill tid Oddersang by Arve Moen bergset and It has a really interesting storyline so I decided to share the story (I had to change some of it so KT will allow it)

Credit to Vikingskog on Youtube. I know he left a year ago but congrats on 20,000 subscribers. He is a Norwegian-American who uploads Nordic folk songs and their meanings and his channel is very cool (he has a catalog of over 600+ Nordic folk songs)

The story

This song is about a 14th century Norwegian girl, Guro. She was the daughter of a very powerful Norwegian leader, and she owns a very large farm. Everyone wanted to be with her, so she was the popular girl of all Norwegians. She was beautiful and strong, so everyone loved her. They Loved her so much that the men of her town physically  fought each other to marry her.

One day, while Guro was going to church, she meets a guy named Tore who wanted to marry her. Guro did not approve of him so she called the 14th century Norwegian police to arrest him,

Guro ended up marrying a guy named Torgeir who was the guy that stopped Tore. They lived on her farm and started a family. Torgeir was a fiddle player and we was popular as well. He also had Guro in elementary school (did elementary school exist in 14th century Norway?) so they knew each other pretty well.

Then, Tore returns (the worst character in this story) and wants to do some revenge. So he evily plants to burn down Torgeir and Guro’s farm. He later takes 2nd thought when he sees’ Guro’s daughter.  This led to Tore wanting to runaway to the forrest because he is jealous of Torgeir. Because of this, he idmeatlly divorced Guro and went to fight another guy.

And Torgeir died, and even thought Guro was rich, pretty and popular, she was depressed.

For those who are wondering how Guro looks, this is how she looks like.

She is very pretty indeed. I might draw her soon...

School didn’t exist in 1300’s (14th century) Norway, much less elementary school.

Also, how do you pick up a phone in the 14th century and call the police?

I just lost a brain cell reading this. (Jk) But it was a great story!
