Advantages of being a SPED kid // Viking Diaries #20

Now, you may or may not know this but I am a SPED student. I dont have SPED All The Time. Just Twice a week.

Well, yesterday during SPED (which is fun because you get to skip Physical Education for free) I met one of the new teachers (I have 3 SPED teachers) and she said her name was Lena. She already knew about my Hyperfixation with Scandinavia, and she asked me if I knew about the Ole and Lena jokes.

For those who Don't know what Ole and Lena is (I only knew a few things about them) Ole and Lena are jokes that are used mostly by Norwegian-Americans, (and for those who are wondering Ole and Lena have No relation to my favorite song Oleanna) so that was wondering.

I answered "yeah" and then we just started talking about Scandinavian stuff. She asked me if I was Scandinavian, and she said No and She was actually nice about it. Another SPED kid advantage. When you have a test, you get free recources AND help with Math problems. I had a test on Algebra today, and I assume I got between an 80 or 70. Praying it is one those

What's SPED

Special Needs. Basically when you have a disability (Autisim, ADHD, Dyslexia, Down syndrome etc)
I have Autisim and Anxiety so i got to SPED twice a week. Depending on the Severity of your condition you have to take SPED either once or twice a week for  1 hour, Every day for 1 hour, or every day, all day for the full year.

I take regular classes but on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Instead of taking Fitness and Health, I have to take SPED.

Cool. I have Anxiety and ADHD but my school doesn’t have SPED.If it did would I be eligible?

Yes.

For ADHD yes but for Anxiety no (Unless you have Depression or Autisim that follows it)

I don’t like to think of my adhd as a mental illness.
