I noticed barely nobody comments on my posts about The Emigrants but I just came up with a great theory
Finna-Kajsa is overpowered.
How? Let me explain.
Finna-Kajsa is a 65-year old woman (that's her age in the 1st book) from Öland, Sweden. She basically left Sweden to fill the void of the death of her husband and meets Kristina and Karl in the ship to Minnesota. Kristina quickly gets along with Finna-Kajsa and become good friends.
In the 2nd book, she is described as weak and misunderstood by some of the other passangers like the captain himself.
Well guess what.
She outlived every single main character
Robert, Karl's brother dies from the flu (guys this is the 1800s) and Arvild dies from a waterborne disease both in the 2nd book. Danijel almost dies but then got cured, and Karl and Kristina died at the last book. Kristina due to sickness and Karl due to natural causes.
But guess who was alive at the death of Karl and Kristina.
Finna-Kajsa. She was still alive.
Like HOW?
also, some of her quotes hit diferent like in the musical she said this really deep piece of information that made Sweden look like it was under an apocalypse back then
"Everyone in Sweden is longing to get out, even the mice want to emigrate."
This reminds me of a certain SHR event we had once
Also let's not forget the beef Finna-Kajsa had with Danijel in the 1st book
She should be the real main character
