The Emigrants by Vilhelm Moberg
for those who haven’t catched up with the Fika, The Emigrants is a really epic great book series about this Swedish couple and their kids who emigrated from Sweden to Minnesota. Kinda of an epic book series, except that the old book cover looks like it was drawn by a 5th grader

I understand if you read it as a teen (I’m 14 and I love this series) BUT YOU SHOULDNT READ THE EMIGRANTS AT 7 YEARS OLD
GO READ LIKE DOG MAN OR SOMETHING WHEN I WAS 7 I WAS READING DOG MAN
At least this guy knows that he his Scandinavian ancestors weren’t Vikings.
it concerns me when people think having Scandinavian Ancestry = Having Viking Ancestry. Being a Viking was a job.

I mean, Technically the truth. littearly half of the book is set on a ship. They couldn’t ride a bicycle or a school bus or a Jet Ski it’s 1850s Sweden
(The Emigrants but everyone just gets a pair of J e t s k i s for the 2nd part because ships are overrated)

The Movie is great too. The 2021 movie tho is much better than the 1972
Also, There was a TV Show. There’s also a musical.

UPDATE : I looked it up and appearently there was a scrapped idea for a The Emigrants Amusement Park called “Moberglands” and even MIT got involved.
