Chapter Three
After she finished writing in her diary, she slammed it shut. She then looked over to her clock on her nightstand to see what time it was. Once she looked over, she saw it was 12:00 PM. She sighed. "Just a few more minutes" she said to herself. She sighed once more. She looked around her room. Her eyes became heavy. Before she knew it, her eyes closed and she went off to a deep sleep.
"Beatrice!" Her mother screamed. Beatrice was alarmed and immediantly got up. She looked to see the time, and to her surprise, it was almost ten. She shot out of bed. Beatrice rubbed her eyes. She headed over to her closet to get her clothes. She knew there was no time for a refreshing shower. She picked out a silver dress with black lining. It was her mother's when she was young. She got dressed and headed down stairs. She saw her mother with an unhappy look on her face. "You know, it is your cousin Grace's birthday today" said her mother with a grin on her face. "What about school?" Beatrice asked while sitting at the dining table. "Your not going today" Mrs. Goldstrings handed Beatrice a birthday bag and card to sign. "Here" her mother walked away. Beatrice went to find a pen. After she had found something to sign the card with, she signed her name.
This is what the card said:
Hello Grace,
Happy birthday! I hope your having a great 13'th birthday! Boy, do I wish I was a teenager!
Beatrice Goldstrings
Her mother came over to her with a smile. "Okay, lets go. Hop in the car." Her mother went out the door all covered with jackets and scarfs. Beatrice grinned and put a jacket and scarf on. She hopped in there mini van. Beatrice turned the car radio on. A Taylor Swift song '22' came on. While her mother smiled during the song, Beatrice looked in a grossed out way. "So, how far is it from here?" Asked Beatrice. "We are already here" their car parked. Grace's house was a mansion. It was tall and looked old fashioned. Beatrice was amazed. It was beautiful. A small girl that looked to be 11 years old greeted them in. "Wheres Grace?" Beatrice asked. "I am Grace" she said in a annoyed voice. She looked 11, although it was her 13th birthday. "Okay" Beatrice said looking at her mother in regret. "Follow me" Grace showed them to a room with a huge dining table. There was at least 5 big cakes on the table. "Sit" Grace said. Beatrice and Mrs. Goldstrings looked around the room to find somewhere to sit. They then sat next to a red velvet cake. Red velvet cakes were Beatrice's favorite. She couldn't wait until they could eat it. Then, bunches of people entered the room. None of these people Mrs. Goldstrings or Beatrice knew. This made the party very uncomfortable. Beatrice tried to smile.
After the Party
Once they were home, Beatrice was much relieved. She felt like she wasted the whole day. She took out her diary and pen and wrote...
Dear Diary,
I wasted my whole day.
