Silens I Chapter 25
Sometimes the world goes dark, and the only way to get out is to light a candle, even if it means burning yourself.
"Asia." said a stern voice from the stands. I was in the courtroom, and Caim was sitting in a chair down below. I glanced at him, and he stared back with hollow, emotionless, dead eyes that made me shiver. "What happened the afternoon of April 15th?"
I told the whole story, why, how, but not when: I never even looked at the time. I just remembered the late evening sun.
The judge nodded to Caim, and Caim spoke in a dreary voice. "I hit her with a curse. I meant to hit someone else."
"Who was?"
"Lucas Malfoy."
A hush went amongst the people and the jury, but the judge pressed on. Caim answered every question truthfully, and in the end, the judge brought down the gavel. "Jury, is Caim guilty or innocent?"
"I plead guilty," said Caim loudly, it startled me.
I leaped forward. "No! Don't put him in Azkaban!"
"Just because you've forgiven him doesn't mean your family or friends have. Jury?"
Almost all raised their hands for guilty. I looked at them, stood up on my seat, and said, "I forgive him! He would never, ever do something like that ever again. He's guilt ridden, so I think he's learned his lesson! Don't put him in Azkaban!"
The judge stood up. "Then he'll have to be held here, then, in the Ministry. He can't go back to school."
"Take me to Azkaban." Caim said. "I've done a terrible wrong."
"I'm alive, okay?" I screamed. "He didn't kill me!"
"Yes, he did. Twice. You were reported unofficially dead twice during your coma. The fcat that you're here now makes no difference. Guards! Take Toby Jay Caim to the holding cell while we await his transfer."
Dementors came and took a mellow Caim away. He didn't even scream.
I looked at him, and said internally, "I'll get you out."
"First mission!" I said to Tom and Lucas. "We get Caim out of Britain."
Tom looked up. "Before he gets to Azkaban? Wouldn't that make us outlaws?"
"You have a better idea?" I snapped. "We'll just sneak in there and get him out! Easy! Have you guys learned Expecto Patronum yet?"
"Why, are there Dementors?" Lucas asked, a bit fearful.
"Yes. Have you learned it? I have."
Tom and Lucas nodded slowly. "Have you been practicing without me?!" I said, but they only grinned. "Fine. We'll be in and out in no time. There's a point at Midnight when the holding cell isn't being guarded. First, let's make a plan."
LOLZ THIS STORY IS GETTING ACTIONY (had dis planned for a bit) Looking forward to next chapter, sorry so short!
