Over the summer, I went to camp for the first time ever. When I came back, I told one of my friends about it and she instantly asked her parents if she could go next year. Her mother was impressed with the camp, but both parents were extremely tentative about letting her fly alone. To go to camp, I flew my myself too and there were no issues whatsoever. It was my first time too and I would be flying with my friend. Her parents said no to her going to camp and won’t budge, even though they have said in the past that I am very mature and they approve of their daughter being friends with me.  I haven’t seen the friend in two years and we really want to go to camp together.  Friend is 12 (will be thirteen at time of camp), and I am 15 (will be 16). I also have a sister who will be going with me/us. With three people traveling, I don’t see the danger and can’t agree with her parents. I’m not willing to just give up on this. What do I do?

Well. I understand what they mean... traveling alone can be dangerous..
