Is Oh My God a Bad Word?

Question

When I say "Oh My God" my friends get mad at me and say it's a bad word. They said that God will punish you and it's not respectful to God. I'm not religious or Christian but..is this true?

No. I’m not Christian either, but I did go to a Christian preschool/kindergarten, and they would also get mad and say the same thing. Don’t worry, it’s ok. Nothing will happen.

Saying Gods name in vain is like saying a cuss word. Imagine someone using your names a curse word. And yes God will punish you if you don't ask forgiveness and accept him into your life.

Honestly I don’t really have an option on this. My mum says to say oh my goodness/omg/oh my gosh but I still say oh my god and all my friends at school do so in my opinion it is no big deal. In my opinion it is only bad if you start adding real swears to the mix like adding the s word that is when it starts to Get bad

Well I'm not Christian but my friends mum tells her to dragon my gosh, not on my god, so I am basically saying. NO!!!!!!!!?

Well if you say O my God you are cursing GOD himself. In the ten comandments  one of the rules is you sall not use Gods name in vane.
