My dad is a raging drug addict. He takes steroids and other things almost every day, making him intolerable. Recently, he hurt me so bad i was left with blood and bruises. he has done this before, but never to this point. My dad discovered I had 3 missing assignments for school, and he went into a rage. He was screaming in my face, and I knew he was gonna hurt me by the look in his eyes. As soon as he left the room, I ran to the bathroom with my school computer, since he had taken my phone the day before. I emailed my mom, but recieved no response and got anxious, so I emailed my principal. She called my mom, but when she had no response, she called the police. My mom notified my dad and told him the cops were called, and he flipped. He banged on the bathroom door, threatening to beat me and bust the door down. I opened it with my shakey hands and tear soaked face, prepared to get slapped. He didn't tho. He yelled until my brothers got in the car, and then proceeded to scream at me to put my shoes on. I started to, but then I realized I would be safe if I just waited for the police. When I told him no to getting in the car, he grabbed my shoe and beat me with it for a good 3 minutes, while I was screaming for help. When I had finally had enough, he threw me on the floor of our laundry room, and screamed until I got in the car. Long story short, he fled before the cops could come. Me and my mom filed a police report 4 days later, and a restraining order 2 days after that. I really miss him. What can I do to distract myself?
