Chapter 6: The Transfer
"Look at all of you. I'm surprised I don't see the two little circles here," said Igor spitefully. Adonis bit back a nasty retort. "They're not circles! And they're twins!" He added, having to be pulled back by the hexed string. Igor yawned, "Potato, potahto. All of you are from the same cave. I'm going to do the same to them what I'm going to do to all of you."
Evan gulped. "Sir, we didn't mean any harm. We only wanted a few ingots, that's all!"
"'Sir, we didn't mean any harm,'" Igor mocked ignorantly. "YOU WERE WATCHING THEM THROUGH THEIR EYES AS THEY ATTEMPTED TO STEAL HUNDREDS OF EMERALDS WORTH IF GOLD INGOTS!" He boomed, knocking over his chair. He took a deep breath and slicked back his nonexistent hair. "You know how I know that? Because I overlook redstone operations. As soon as I saw that someone logged on the operators without permission, I knew it had to be you. It's the same ordeal every time, you know."
They were all shook. Sage hung her head low the whole conversation. Adonis could tell she was embarrassed as the Land Far Away is infinite. As Igor continued to stab each and every one of them with his words, Adonis started getting more and more enraged.
He felt the bands around his arms start to let loose, a signification of impending danger. He eyes started to change color from a gemstone green to a misty white. They did not glow, though, the change was just as noticeable. The illager's eyes got wide, and he paused.
"You will stop making your ridiculous and unnecessary comments this instant, Igor..." Adonis said coldly, his voice deeper than before, but not so much baritone. Igor put his hands on his desk and came closer to Adonis, face to face with him. Adonis could basically smell what he had for dinner the night before and for breakfast this morning.
"Make me..." Igor whispered in with his raspy tone. Adonis started to growl, but his misty white eyes disappeared, and he spoke with a more mature sound. "What's our sentence? 10 years in the the Obsidian Fortress?" Igor laughed. "I doubt that would make you learn your lesson. You'd probably find a way to still be happy in there. And even though I hate you all, I can't possible separate you. You guys may be more trouble apart than together," he added from the side of his mouth.
"But I have something you would hate, much worse than the Obsidian Fortress... You and all of your convicted crew are going to be sent to the Land Far Away."
There was a gasp between the friends. "No! You can't do that!" Croaked Sage, finally deciding to say something. Igor shot his eyes into hers. "I just did."
"And how many of us are you going to send there? You can't do this, we aren't allowed to step on Skyborn grounds!" Adonis tried to reason. Igor looked back at Adonis with a sadistic smile. "The maximum for how many of my citizens I can send is 8. I thought, 'why waste this opportunity to take you of my hands?'"
Adonis looked back at Wayne, who was still mysteriously looking off somewhere far, far away. Somewhere that Adonis wanted to be right about now.
"Adonis Rex, Sage Fare, Wayne Wailer, Maxine Lest, Evan Black, Preston Gold, and Webner and Winnie Darkheart, you may all go to Diamon, commonly known by you as the Land Far Away. Your sentence will depend on how your behaviour is recorded. If you're lucky, I may let you back early."
Adonis truly could not believe what he was hearing. He looked back at Wayne once more, now noticing a tear stream down his left milky white eye. "Well, you are all going to be transferred there in the morning. Say goodbye to the rest if your crew while you can. They won't be much trouble without you 8, since I'll be enforcing the law down on them. If any of you tell this to them, I will not hesitate to keep you in Diamon forever."
Without another word, they were escorted to the entrance of the quarters and violently pushed out of the building and onto the floor. One of the pillagers stayed to say, "Good riddance to all of you!" And slammed the dark oak door shut.
Wayne, however, could not be forcefully pushed on the ground, as he was too overpowering. He vibrated the hexed string and it tore itself apart. "You could do that this whole time?" Asked Evan, confused. "I didn't want us to get in more trouble," Wayne replied, helping everyone off the ground.
"So what do we do now?" Preston asked quietly. He was always so quiet, not wanting to draw attention to himself. He only stayed with strong people of the group like Adonis and Sage and Wayne, but always interacting with Winnie and Webner as if he were their age. And Adonis could see that he was worried sick out of his mind.
"We're going to get through this, Preston. I promise," Adonis reassured, putting a hand on Preston's shoulder. Preston looked up at him with tears lining his eyelids and sniffed, smiling, "Thank you Adonis..."
