⬛⬛⬛4) Short Story Fiction Essay (I added a moral to highlight the story more)
Carrie, her platinum blonde braid whipping behind her, was jogging across the dark pavement of the road. Her mind was racing with the prospect of the upcoming karate contest. She was reviewing all the smooth moves in her mind, stopping abruptly when a dip in the pavement caught her foot.
" Dang it! " she spat venomously. Wrenching her foot out of the dip, she felt an agony prickling up her slender leg. "Its broken!" she murmured, limping home and shoving her way into the house.
"You OK, Carrie?" her mother inquired the moment her wheezing daughter entered.
"I broke my foot,' Carrie answered snappishly. " How are you?"
Her mother's eyes went wide. "The terrorists," she hissed hoarsely. 'Get to the bomb shelter! "
They raced towards it. Half way outside the door, Carrie's injury gave way and she toppled over. "Its OK, I can get up," she assured her brown haired mother. She grabbed a pole stuck in the most ground. The silver pole was slipping out of the soil, tearing the earth. Fumbling with it, Carrie realized a bomb was going off in the background. Her breath hard and fast with panic, she jumped up and trodded to the shelter, not letting the pain stop her.
Moral: Don't let disabilities or injuries stop you from doing things you have to and want to do.
