So my best friend, lets call him (he's a transgender boy) Jay, is a nice enough person. He's been my best friend for 3 years. He's a great kid.

Sometimes, he would touch my thigh or my leg. It would always make me uncomfortable but I would never tell him to stop because I wasn't sure if I was just being dramatic, and I didn't want to upset him.

One time, my other friend Lyla (who Jay also did this to) told Jay to stop. She said that it made her uncomfortable and that she didn't like it. Jay got angry and made himself the victim of the situation, saying he did it because he has family trauma or something.

This makes me feel like Jay has assaulted me. I don't know what to think. He doesn't do this anymore, at least not to me, but he does it t my other friends a lot. Am I in the wrong here? Did he actually assault me inappropriately?? Please help!

I don't believe that would be considered sexual assualt at that level. But it's worth distancing yourself from any similar situations.

This is not appropriate at ALL nor is it okay!! Honestly, you should ditch him, this isn’t good for you or your friends. Tell an adult. “Family trauma” is not an excuse to touch people when they don’t want to be, and it is definitely assault.
