OH HELLO SORRY I DIDN'T SEE THIS!
Oh man, anyone who's aware of the situation, please don't come after me. And just by this sentence Akari, I'm sure you can already tell what my opinion is.
Won't lie, I'm going to defend him, but I also feel sorry for what he did to Shelby. It was wrong, nasty... But at the same time, despite his awful 'apology,' what if he did truly believe it was okay? I think they both should have communicated with each other more.
And tbh, I believe a lot of what she said about him! About the love bombing, the switch-up on serious stuff, and that his desire for money and fame took priority over her (sadly).
But personally? I am huge, HUGE on redemption and second chances. He said he's changed- I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he did. And I know he didn't really apologize, but we can only expect so much from people (again, sadly).
I still listen to his music, I still have my 'PebbleBrain' sweater, my CD, and I don't see it changing anytime soon. I like his music, both his own and Lovejoy's!
ALSO- I saw this one comment on a YouTube video. Did you ever listen to Wilbur's latest personal album, 'Mammalian Sighing Reflex?" Although it really focused on topics such as burnout (me too bro), he actually talked about the physical abuse he endured during one of his relationships. The person thought that Wilbur's and Shelby's old relationship would come to light and she would be pegged as the bad guy, so she turned around and told her half (possibly exaggerated) right after he released the album. I have no doubt in my mind though that their relationship was strained and very toxic on both sides, so I think the idea is worth entertaining. Just a little, though.
AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE CAITIBUG SITUATION-
Plus, it's not like he can even come on stream and say anything because his mods are all gone :/ It seems like he may just be disappearing for awhile anyways. Lovejoy canceled their most recent shows too, so I'm not sure how this is going to play out. But I really do hope he comes back. And I hope people give him his second chance, and I know I sure will.
And holy cow, don't even get me started on how crazy Shelby's fans are acting bro- it's bad. Like, REALLY bad.
Anyways, personally, when I see his face I just shake my head a bit and scoff because I'm just a little disappointed. Well, maybe more than 'a little.' But, I don't know, not a lot has changed. Won't lie, still got a big fat crush on that man- but Idk, maybe I'm mentally ill.
And again, this is just my personal opinion, and you are more than welcome to disagree with me in ALL aspects- I get that it's a controversial subject!
I just hope you're doing well, and just keep moving forward, and find someone else to watch/ listen to! I HIGHLY recommend the band 'Los Campesinos!"- that's the band Wilbur drew a lot of inspiration from, and it's one of his favorite ones!! AND OH MY GOD I'VE LOVED THEIR MUSIC FOR YEARSSSSS. They've been my top artist on Spotify for three years now :p His latest album, WU&IO, actually stole a tune from 'Weezer,' and they have music very similar to that album XD
And there's SO many indie artists out there!! Although I may not be attached to the band/ artists like I am to Wilbur, 'Lovejoy,' and 'Los Campesinos!," I do love certain songs! Lmk if you ever need any recommendations :)
Listen, in conclusion, my heart goes out to both Wilbur and Shelby. But I am still a Wilbur supporter.
