So sorry y'all, i've been slacking on my story. some drama has been happening, which i posted a little while ago.
Chapter 7: Mixed emotions
Leo called his moms and told them all the drama, and they came home in 20 or so minutes. I was holding Liam close when I saw his mum's car pull up into the crumbled driveway. She gasped and grabbed Liam and kissed his head softly. "I will always love you, my baby boy," she whispered lovingly to her son. Liam's eyes opened and he smiled. It faded quickly. Leo sobbed and I came over to him, hopping over broken pieces of the walls. I hugged him and he hugged me back.
At the hospital, their mom came to me. "Kaylianna, I've got bad news, honey," she said sadly. My heart dropped as I wondered what the bad news was. "There's been a car crash, and.... Well...."
"Their dead, aren't they," I said. She looked surprised. I guess she thought I'd be more sad. "No, but their in the hospital. They were looked for you, and a driver going at 100 MPH in a 60 MPH road crashed into them. Max was flung from the car and hit his head. Maxine was too. Your dad is very injured, and your mom broke her arm and leg." Now I was more surprised for some reason. "Why did they call you? Do you think they know I'm hiding with y'all?" "No, but I guess your mom told the hospital staff to call me, her best friend." I didn't cry. I didn't even feel very sad. I did feel guilt, though. I felt anger because if they had just accepted me, I wouldn't have ran away, and they wouldn't be looking for me.
Leo noticed my mood and held my hand. "I'm here for you. I always will be. When they reject you, I'll be here, because I lov-" He stopped. "Huh? What were you sayin'?" I asked, confused, even though I knew what he was gonna say. He blushed bright red and turned around. "I.. Uhm.. H-heard my.. Mum.. C-calling.. me.. so.. uh.. yeah.." I laughed at his awkwardness and he ran away to the hospital room. I knew he meant what he said.
