(This was Writingnerds idea. I couldn’t entirely remember the idea but I tried to make it accurate! Hope ya’ll enjoy it! I tried to make it not very corny)
The crackle of the fireplace warmed the small hut in the middle of the woods. Holding a cup of hot tea, Melissa sat in her chair, staring out the window at the specks of snow falling outside slowly beginning to collect on the ground.
It was a peaceful time for dear Melissa, though there was one thing she was missing.
A lover.
But she was getting older, and had lost hope in this. Melissa figured she would just be alone forever, and so two years ago, at the age of 60, she accepted her fate and settled near a small town, somewhat isolated from the rest of society.
Staring out the window, Melissa was daydreaming about her younger years, and sighing at the old memories she had established. She took a sip of her tea and sat farther back in her chair. The snow had finally made a white frosty layer atop of the grass. Suddenly she snapped back to reality, realizing something was moving.
A person was walking the trail that went past her house. An older person, perhaps a lady. They looked cold, as they only had a jacket on for warmer layers. Their arms were crossed.
Melissa felt bad for this wandering stranger, and they didn’t seem to be in a hurry, so she got up and opened the door when the person was near.
“Are you alright? Would you like to come in?” She asked the stranger.
The person looked up. They looked at her with glossy eyes. Glossy, familiar eyes…
“Don’t mind if I-” —a shiver seemed to rush down their spine— “-do. Thank you.”
She guided them inside and led them to her chair. “Take a seat. Would you like some tea?”
“Yes please, thank you so, so much.” The stranger sat down in the chair, their hands open palmed toward the fireplace.
Melissa fixed up some spearmint tea. “So, are you from here?” she inquired, taking out the teabag and adding some honey to the tea. She brought it over to them.
“Not around here, but somewhat near here,” the stranger answered, taking the tea from Melissa. “I’m in the next town over.”
“Oh,” Melissa responded. “I used to live over there.”
“Uh, by the way, I’m Sara,” the person said, taking another sip of her tea. “What’s your name?”
“Melissa,” she answered. Thats funny, she thought. I had a friend named Sara.
Sara looked at her curiously. “Do I know you from somewhere?”
“That’s odd, I swear I’ve seen you before too…” said Melissa.
Sara’s face lit up. “Melissa Smith?”
Melissa gasped. “Sara?! Is that you?”
The two began to jabber. They recognized each other from back when they were teenagers. The two dated back then, two pansexual queens against the world. Until…
“How did you manage to get here, Sara?” Melissa had a tear streaming down her cheek. “I thought you… you…”
Sara sighed. “After Father claimed that I will always only be a boy, and me liking people other than girls is wrong, he kicked me out. When townsfolk found out and drove me out of town, I just faked my death. Then lived a low life for years. I managed to come back with a fake identity. And I tried so hard to find you, but you had moved somewhere else by that time. And for all I knew, you found someone else, and…” Sara started to cry. “I can’t believe its you.”
Melissa was crying too. She bent down and hugged Sara hard. “Me neither…” she whispered.
The two cried together until they couldn’t anymore. Melissa squeezed Sara’s hand.
“We’re here now…” Melissa said. “I will never let them make you leave again.”

3 months later
In a place in the woods where barely anyone decided to cross through, Melissa and Sara sat on a rock, gazing at the rushing, clear stream in front of them. The area was beautiful, with so many trees surrounding that it was difficult to see between them. Small patches of sunlight beamed on the grass and flowers were sprouting in the grass. Birds chirped from above them.
Sara smirked, the wrinkles near her eyes appearing. “Do you, Melissa, take me, Sara, as your wife?”
Melissa’s eyes widened. She let out a laugh. “I do!”
“Do you, Sara, take me, Melissa, as your wife?” She looked to Sara.
“Yes, I do!” Sara was overjoyed Melissa went along with it.
On a beautiful spring day, two reunited lovers sealed their “marriage” with a kiss. The two proceeded to live a wonderful life together and lived happily ever after.
