It was a freezing cold morning, and snowflakes fluttered outside. The crackle of the fireplace was the only sound in the room as Elle sat down at the kitchen table.
She made sure nobody was there before she grabbed a dictionary on the bookshelf beside her and set it on the table. She glanced left and right one last time before she opened the dictionary.
Inside were long paragraphs of notes, loose papers, book-markers, even some taped in things.
Elle flipped a few pages before she spotted what she was looking for.
“CLASSIFIED
January 23rd, 1974
I found it. It’s there. It’s really there!
After all this time, all this searching, all this nonstop searching!
We can’t let anyone find it. It’s there. Memphis, Tennessee. The next time is due all the way to December 19th, 2023!
Nobody can know, not a single soul. It has to happen. It will happen. I know it will, all my calculations add up! Finally!
Humanity is doomed. But who cares anymore? They started the suffering, this’ll end it! It’s magical! Humanity can not survive with this anymore! Humanity is weak! We’ve done it! Only wiped out 20,000 humans… next time calls for more!“
Elle sighed as she clutched the paper. Its today, she thought. Now.
