So PBS Kids appearently shoved Finnish folk music down ourselves.
So, I was vibing to this song called "Matalli" and it is by this band called Vartinna. The song is basically appeared in Arthur (which is a PBS kids show) I havent learned this into now. I also got very little exposure to Arthur so I had to do a deeper dive (thats the price you have to pay for not being American, Im Venezuelan)
So... Yeah. The song itself is actually.. erm questionable and not really appropiate for the Audience of PBS kids, maybe for older kids/teens yeah but not kindergarteners. The Arthur version just had the instrumental and "oo-ee-oo-ee" parts in the middle and ending of the song. The actual song is about a boy from Finland who has a crush on a Karelian girl, but it is set in the 12th century, and Karelians and Finns couldnt get married or date (It was legal for a Finn to marry/date a Sámi, but somehow not a Karelian) Appearently the Karelian Girl's punishment is having to stay at home 24/7, but one night she finds the Finnish boy who had a crush on her, and then they get married.
Oh yeah, and people have a theory that the band is made out of robots/vocaloids. The Vocaloid technology was very new in the 1990s, which is when this song was made. Also people were concerned because this was one of the very few All-Female Scandinavian folk bands (most of them have both Male and Female members, but there hasnt been an All-Female Nordic folk band)
Now onto the personal issues part, I keep thinking about death. I dont know why, but ever since I quitted Youtube thats all I could think now. I am scarred of growing up, because I waste my time on some of my hobbies (Art, Genealogy, Crafting etc) just so they get forgotten once I die. How do I stop this? (and no dont say ask an adult, I want something to do to get this out of my head and never pop up again)
