Aaron walked down the street, trying to get to the subway.
As he entered, the horrible smell of cigarette butts and expired milk filled the air.
“Another day…” he thought.
When he saw the train coming, Aaron noticed a group of men on the other side who were drinking alcohol.
They were rough, using vulgar language and were clearly out to cause trouble.
Aaron simply rolled his eyes and went into the train.
Turns out, the group of men went on the same train car as him.
Inside of the cart, there was an elderly Japanese-American man, looking to be about 70, sitting with his cane in his lap.
Along with the man, there was a young woman who looked about 17.
The others in the car consisted of a father and her daughter, a middle aged woman reading a book, and a man in a suit.
Aaron soon noticed the man in the suit was his brother, whom he had not seen in 3 years.
“Grant?” He asked.
“Aaron?” Grant asked.
Aaron sat beside his brother, chatting about their lives and how they were going.
The group of men were being very loud and obnoxious.
Aaron side-eyed them, drawing the attention of one of the men.
“Hey! Look at this hobo with that business dude! Probably begging for money!” The man said, clearly drunk.
“Probably begged for that whiskey you had earlier, bud.” Grant fired back, defending his brother.
The drunk man’s expression turned angry.
“You better watch your mouth.” He said.
“Hypocrite…” Aaron whispered to himself.
All of a sudden, the drunk man threw Aaron to the ground.
Grant immediately stood up, punching the drunk man and flooring him.
The group of men could care less, so they continued with their talking and roughhousing.
Aaron and Grant turned the other cheek, until, the group of men starting harassing the other passengers, particularly the old Japanese-American man and the young woman.
“HEY! LAY OFF!” Aaron said with anger.
One of the tall men in the group harassing the old man walked up to Aaron.
“What you gonna do about it?” He said, pushing Aaron back.
Brushing himself off, Aaron coldly said this:
“You might die today, so say your prayers.”
The tall man immediately punched Aaron, knocking him back.
Grant delivered a swift air-kick to the back of the tall man’s head, knocking him down.
“You’re clearly the better fighter…” Aaron said, wiping the blood from under his nose.
“Thing is, I don’t know if you’re ready to fight.” Grant replied with a smirk on his face.
One of the men charged at Aaron, immediately getting floored by a big body blow by him.
“Not bad.” Grant said, impressed.
A man kept harassing the old man, eventually taking his cane and threatening to hit him with it.
Aaron assumed a boxing stance and walked towards the man.
The man hit Aaron’s left arm with his cane, but Aaron recovered in time to deliver a swift uppercut to the man.
He took the cane, giving it back to the old man and telling him to get back.
“We floored 4 of em, these next 3 guys look like bruisers.” Grant said, pulling out his knuckle duster.
In the corner of Aaron’s eye, he saw a member of the group trying to inappropriately touch the young woman.
Aaron pulled out his knife, running towards the assaulting man.
He blocked a punch thrown by the assaulter, and then proceeded to stab his arm over and over and over.
Aaron delivered one last slice to the man’s cheek, making him drop to the ground, holding his cheek in pain.
“Thank y-” the woman said before being pushed back by Aaron.
“Hold tight ma’am. Sorry about the shove.” He said casually before Grant walked beside him.
The two last men standing in the group, who seemed very muscular, started cracking their knuckles.
“You gonna put up a fight?” Grant said, putting his duster on.
“Oh, you ain’t seen nothing yet.” The bigger man said.
The bigger man engaged in fierce fighting with Grant, landing a couple of big punches while being riddled with punches by Grant.
Aaron fought the smaller man, cutting and stabbing him multiple times with his knife.
Grant and Aaron eventually dropped the two men.
As the train stopped, the rest of the passengers got off in shock, while Grant and Aaron walked out with bruised and bloodied faces, still looking as handsome as ever.
The young woman looked at Aaron with admiration.
The elderly man smiled.
The father on the car with them walked up to the duo, telling them:
“You boys would be fine gangsters. Ever thought about getting into the business?”
