Chapter Two
Sarah
"You want a chocolate bar?" asks Madison.
I shake my head. "Nah, I don't like coffee crisp." I begin to comb my long, blonde hair.
Madison is my best friend. We've known each other since kindergarten, so seven years in total. She and I are complete opposites, though. For example, she's chinese, I'm not. I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan, she's a Chris Brown fan. (She says Taylor Swift is too chill for her liking). My favourite food is sushi, she hates sushi. Things like that. But somehow we always have something to talk about. Like, middle school tea.
Madison grabs her phone and begins to text her boyfriend. Well, sort of boyfriend. They technically got together last week, but she already acts like they have dated since last year. And Madison was the first to make a move, too.
I roll over to see what they say.
Madison: Hey:3
Pete:
(His name is Pete, by the way)
Hey, what's up?
Madison: I'm w\ Sarah. Wanna hang out l8ter?
Pete: Busy. Gotta hang out w\ my Dad. 2-morrow?
"Disappointed?" I ask her.
" No. I'll get over it. " Madison puts away her phone. "What do you wanna do?"
" We could explore my attic. My gramma says there are a bunch of things up there to keep us entertained for hours. "
Madison raises her eyebrow. "Meh..."
I pull her hand. " come onnn. It'll be fun. "
"Fine."
I laugh and we run up the attic stairs.
