Blood dotted the white snow like an abstract canvas. There was lighter or smaller patches here and there, but mostly there was one long, dark red streak dripping onto the ground in heavy amounts. The trail led up the mountainside, where the creature was dragging itself along. Slow, but steady, it made its way up with only a few irregular jerks interuppting its journey.
Finally, it collapsed, clutching its leg. It was a bipedal entity, but something was off. Breathing heavily, covered by thick fur, the rat began to begin to climb again, this time much slower. He wheezed, limping, until he reached the summit.
The view was of a lush forest near the horizon. However, the snow obscured his vision. The blood still dripping heavily onto the white, he managed a smile at the sight of his homeland from such a vantage point. Sighing, he brought a paw to his face.
"All hail the kingdom,
all hail all ratkind."
