Basic/common terms:

Gay: Most people refer to the word gay as the entire LGBTQ+ community, but the original definition is a man liking other men.

Lesbian: Refers to girls liking other girls, although some men can identify as lesbian also.

Bisexual: Being attracted to both girls and boys regardless of your assigned gender at birth.

Transgender: Not identifying as your assigned gender at birth, transitioning to another gender.

Cisgender: Identifying with your assigned gender at birth.

Pansexual: Being attracted to people of all genders, regardless of what they identify as.

Straight: Not a part of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. It involves someone being attracted to others of the opposite gender.

More complex/less talked about terms:

Genderfluid: Someone who's gender is 'fluid' and changes daily/weekly/monthly/whatever they're feeling. Genderfluid falls under the Transgender and Non-Binary 'umbrellas'. For example, they could wake up feeling like a girl then feel like a boy later that day and feel like both and neither the next.

Polysexual: Someone who is willing to be in a relationship with more than one person; a poly relationship.

Omnisexual: Similar to Pansexual, but the individual likes everyone, yet still has certain preferences.

Non-binary: Someone who falls under the Transgender 'umbrella', and does not fall under the gender binaries of male and female.

Aromantic: Someone who feels little to no ROMANTIC attraction.

Asexual: Someone who feels little to no S*XUAL attraction.

(AroAce is someone who is a combination of the two!)

Demigirl/Demiboy: Someone who feels only partially male/female. (Demiboys feel partially like a boy, and Demigirls feel partially like a girl!)

Agender: Someone who doesn't identify as having a gender at all.

Cupioromantic: Someone who doesn't feel any romantic attraction but wants a romantic relationship.

If I missed any please feel free to let me know. I hope I didn't haha! Anyway, tell me your gender and/or sexuality if you are comfy with it! Remember, you are perfect with whatever you identify as! Me personally, I am genderfluid and omnisexual! Have a great day everyone =)

This was helpful! Um.. one more thing though- bisexual doesn’t necessarily mean liking boys and girls. That’s the common meaning but some people are bi because they like 2 genders (let’s say girls and nonbinary folks which is also neptunic but still)

Just to clear up, the definition you used for polysexual is actually polyamorous. Polysexual is liking some genders, but not all. Lesbian is actually non-men loving non-men, so it includes nonbinary people. I just wanted to let you know :D.

I am queer, it's really the only label I use. I used to use lesbian, but that didn't fit, polysexual, but that didn't fit, and neptunic, but that didn't fit.
